When The Gloves Come Off

At all costs.

I don’t know if the police are beginning to realize they’re losing ground in the public consciousness, taking the gloves off and letting their thug-flag fly a little more loosely of late, or if the growing ubiquity of video and audio surveillance is simply bringing more of the incidents that were always happening to light, but something is heading south in a hurry.
Don’t open the door:

Christopher Roupe was fatally shot in the chest Friday, Feb. 14 when Euharlee officers showed up at the door of his mobile home to serve a probation violation warrant for the boy’s father, WSB-TV reports. A female officer reportedly told the Georgia Bureau of Investigation that Roupe pointed a gun at her after he opened the door. But the family’s attorney, Cole Law, said the boy was holding a Nintendo Wii video game controller, and was about to watch a movie. “The eyewitnesses on the scene clearly state that he had a Wii controller in his hand. He heard a knock at the door. He asked who it was, there was no response so he opened the door and upon opening the door he was immediately shot in the chest.”

Don’t believe them when they tell you that you’re committing a felony:

The minute Brandy Berning, 33, told Lt. William O’Brien she was recording the conversation they had when he pulled her over for driving in the HOV lane at the wrong time, O’Brien responds on Berning’s audio with: “I have to tell you, you just committed a felony.” For more than four minutes, the two argue: O’Brien insisting that Berning hand over her phone and that she is under arrest, and Berning insisting that she has done nothing wrong. During the argument, O’Brien grabbed Berning’s wrist, spraining it, Berning said. And he tried to take her car keys, getting into her passenger seat and trying to force her from the car. Berning spent the night in jail in March but was never charged.

Avoid calling on them at all costs:

As a result of my efforts to help injured bicyclists by calling 911, I was, in short order: separated from my friend, violently tackled, arrested, taken to county jail, stripped and left in a solitary cell. I am writing this story because, if it could happen to me, it could happen to you, and I feel the need to do something to help prevent this brutality from propagating.

In light of the three previous stories, all from this week alone, one has to marvel at the growingly militant police looking to add first-strike capabilities to their operating doctrine:

Chicago is leading the way in funding and innovation to develop the most advanced predictive analytical system yet, which uses advanced algorithms to compile a list of individuals most likely to commit a crime. “This [program] will become a national best practice,” CPD Commander Jonathan Lewin told The Verge. “This will inform police departments around the country and around the world on how best to utilize predictive policing to solve problems. This is about saving lives.” The department database records phoned incidents and locations where crimes occur frequently to create maps of the city that highlight “hotspots” for criminal activity. It also keeps track of everyone arrested or convicted of a crime, and employs a formula to identify the 400 most dangerous people in the city.

A friendly note to all those super-intelligent pundits who laugh and deride second-amendment supporters by saying that rifles and pistols are no match for Apache gunships and the 82nd Airborne – that’s not who’ll be doing the fighting. It’s going to be the thugs with badges, the ones who’ve demonstrated quite clearly how unhinged, undisciplined and ineffective they are when the tables are turned and they become the target.
Fuck the police.

Oh, the gloves are off. They just haven’t gotten to one who is ready yet. When you hear about a half dozen or more cops/leo/intelligence agents going down, and the “criminal” ends up having no criminal history, you will know that they tangled with a real citizen. A few of those stories getting out and cops will have no luck even getting grandma to pull over for them. At that point, it’s game over. They could try using the military, save most troops won’t play that. And look at how much trouble they had just in places like Afghanistan, against sheep herders.

It’s past the point of correcting through elections. It’s just a matter of when and how the corrections go down. Civil war or will civil insurrection work. Gotta watch those leaders carefully too, though. If the new G.Washington isn’t so keen to give up the crown then he will have to lose his head along with the rest. If she is worth dying for, she is certainly worth killing for. And, for my part, I would still rather just live.
