Rollin' Like Sisyphus

We Called Them, And They’re Coming

And they say patriotism is dead.

And they say patriotism is dead.

In the past few months, an already porous border has, as one headline yesterday put it, “completely dissolved” amid a flood of illegal migrants storming through to either flee violence and poverty, or score free shit, depending on who you believe, your government or the illegals themselves. With both sides of our supposedly divided government creaming their trousers with dreams of perpetual votes and entitlement salvation, the constant talk of amnesty a pathway to legal status without consequence has had the totally unexpected effect of drawing hundreds of thousands more.
The political joke here is that, despite the declared adamance from both sides of the aisle that “comprehensive immigration reform” needs to be a thing slap-dicked together and shoved through the process ASAP FOR THE GODDAMN CHILDREN, the fact that it is still not politically likely is the thing that’s going to bring it all to a head. At this pace, by year’s end, a couple million more illegals will move in like they own the joint. Despite the carefully coordinated PR campaign on the part of our government that these are women and poor little children, a couple of headcounts put the demographics a little differently, with 80 percent male and 83 percent over the age of 16.
But alas.
The situation has escalated so quickly and precipitously that one suspects Our Simple Affirmative Action President was caught off-guard, having planned to point to the children and play on sympathy to get a “reform” package passed, not expecting Texas to deploy it’s law enforcement in a vain attempt to staunch the flow.
So what to do about it?
Let them come.
Let’s kick this party off and get it over with already, because not much else seems capable of lighting a fire under people’s asses any more than the unsettling feeling of being replaced wholesale. They don’t apparently seem to care about IRS malfeasance, inept foreign policy, inept domestic policy, an “affordable” health care plan not even the government can afford, or any of the other 35 scandals that have come out in the past couple of years.
So bring on the Poor, Tired and Shiftless, and I’ll see you on the other side.

But what everyone’s wondering is, what does Neil deGrasse Tyson think of it?

      He already crossed the street.
He doesn’t have time for this.

The bright side, for me, is that we don’t have many here. Too cold in the winter. Sorry Huck.

As you pointed out, nobody cares. They will have to shown good and hard why this stuff matters.
