Rollin' Like Sisyphus

Hard Times And Holy Days

Panic at the drive in...

Panic at the drive in…

It’s easy in trying times to lose oneself in the mire of dire news and circumstances; to see that even the things that should be stalwarts in quotidian life have begun to crumble will make just about anyone want to hunker down and brace for the worst. I’m guilty of this mindset myself from time to time.
But you cannot live your life in a hole.
Hard times bring specific and acute dangers, but the world is always dangerous. The best way to find out how is to experience it fully. This is doubly true for the holy days of Western Civilization.
Do not hunker down, do not cower, do not acquiesce the day to pagans and solstice peddlers who want to abscond with all the trappings of Christmas while tearing down the bulwarks it was built upon Because Patriarchy.
It’s not Happy Holidays, Super Solstice or Season’s Greetings.
It’s Merry Christmas.
Merry Fucking Christmas.
When you make an equivalence of everything, you stand for nothing.
If you forsake Christmas today you’re only inviting Eid al-Fitr or Annual Gift Giving Fat Man Day tomorrow, and we’ve had just about enough of that kind of shit around here.
Buck up, enjoy your Christmas and rest assured that there will be plenty of time to panic and hunker down in the new year.

As one of the 6 who looks at this blog everyday, and just keeps his internet comments to a minimum, Merry Christmas to everyone reading!
