Resident Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson Has An Idea

Posted in No Time For That by Huckleberry on January 5, 2015
Idea man.

Idea man.

If this was an episode of The West Wing, everyone would slap themselves on the forehead and say in elated fashion “why didn’t we think of that!” after some snappy low-life street urchin put the Ivy League starched shirts some knowledge.
Luckily, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, we live in this world, where the self-professed brilliance of simpletons is fittingly derided and decried across the land.
Maybe, if our resident astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson had spent a few spare minutes asking “deep” questions prior to hitting “Tweet This” he would have realized that history is awash in the stories of unhackable systems that were ultimately hacked.
Ask White Star about their unsinkable ship, the Nazis about Enigma or the Persians about Thermopylae; the one true lesson of history is that hubris will always be repaid in schadenfreude.
Every single time.
Unhackable systems he says; Jeff Goldblum already showed there’s no such thing when he hacked a completely foreign computer system driven by a code base and logic completely unfamiliar to humanity, and he did it in a matter of hours.
But yes, please, let’s stop asking questions – we have to get across the street already…
