The Difference Between Latin And Italian Is Merely One Of Pretension, Plus A Super Bowl Pick

High noon...

High noon…

It’s really coming up on Super Bowl Sunday?
Ugh.
I’m just barely ready to get the week started, and here we are at Thursday already.
Just what in the Hell is going on here?
Sometimes I wonder if the Dead Bankers are gettin’ off easy; then I remember “Suicide by Multiple Nail Gun Shots” and I quickly disabuse myself of that silly thought.
Anyway.
So what seems like the shortest NFL season in history is about to wrap up in just a few days, and I couldn’t hardly care less. While I’ve never much been one for the Super Bowl (except the one and only time the Chargers appeared) I have a feeling I’ll tune out this one about as early as I tuned out the last one, which was before halftime.
Cheating scandal — don’t care.
Patriots — I hope they lose their luggage
Seahawks — I hope they get non-life-threatening food poisoning
In what is basically a pick ’em game, I kind of don’t even want to bother.
But I will.
I’m pretty sure Seattle wins this in a walk, simply because their defense can match everything the Patriots offense is likely to muster, no matter what PSI they bring to the party.
The main X factor will be Russell Wilson; if he has another four-INT game, Seattle probably loses. If he can play a tight game and they are able to establish the run, I don’t think New England has an answer for that.
Mostly I’m picking the Seahawks based on one simple trend — playoff teams coming off wins in which they score 40 or more points are only 3-22 in their next playoff game.
I’ll take those odds.
Maybe I’ll check the box score Monday morning and see.

There’s a gaggle of geese and a herd of cows, and I was wondering what a group of blonde cheerleaders was called. It’s not a ‘surfeit,’ that’s for sure. There can never be a surfeit of that.

    A frolic of cheerleaders?
Truly, one can never have a surfeit of that, at any rate.
