Hugos Rocked Like A Hurricane

Posted in The Fail Pail by Huckleberry on April 9, 2015

Apologies to The Scorpions and to the victims of the 1989 Category 4 hurricane that rocked the Eastern Seaboard.
But it’s been more than two decades on both counts, so get the fuck over it.
The SJWs, who breathed an audible sigh of relief following the conclusion of last year’s Hugo Awards that they dodged a bullet are now incoherently apoplectic over the recently announced short lists that almost entirely shut them out for this year. That those with a propensity to feel first and ask questions later are left to dabble about in the cratered ruins of their own impoverished self-delusions is a bright beacon in the night sky, shining a particular shade of schadenfreude and that’s alright.

Haven’t read much of the Sad Puppies/Rabid Puppies slate myself, other than two of Wright’s shorts which were good – a far sight better than If You Were A Dinosaur, My Love — but then the good stories are so few and far between I usually don’t bother reading much fiction anymore. What I love most about this whole affair is the fact that the people who keep screaming obscenity laced tirades about how the future belongs to them are reckoning with the realization that such a sentiment is no longer true, because like the horrid poker players they are, they horrifically overplayed their hands thinking their two-pairs would carry the day if they just bluffed hard enough.
Anyway, I don’t have much more to say on the matter, being as woefully ill-informed AND late to the party.
Check VD, Larry Corriea’s blog, or just put “Sad Puppies” into your search engine and sit back for a jolly good time.

I liked the argument/assertion that #GamerGate did it. We have come a long way from when #GamerGate was 200 white boys and their sockpuppet Twitter accounts to these heady days when they give the Freemasons and Illuminati a run for their money in the “control the whole world behind the scenes” department.
