Rollin' Like Sisyphus

Insane Even By California Standards

Looks legit.

Looks legit.

A curious news item bubbled to the surface late yesterday that left me utterly non-plussed. I can’t even muster the usually wry cynical sarcasm I usually bring to introduce such things, so here you go:

One man introduced himself as chief of the Masonic Fraternal Police Department and told Johnson this was a courtesy call to let him know the agency was setting up shop in the area. They met for 45 minutes, Johnson said, but he was left confused and suspicious … This week, the three people were charged with impersonating police officers. They are David Henry, who told Johnson he was the police chief, Tonette Hayes and Brandon Kiel, an aide to state Atty. Gen. Kamala Harris. It turns out Henry, Hayes and Kiel had allegedly introduced themselves to police agencies across the state, though it is unclear why. A website claiming to represent their force cites connections to the Knights Templar that they say go back 3,000 years. The site also said that the department had jurisdiction in 33 states and Mexico. “When asked what is the difference between the Masonic Fraternal Police Department and other police departments, the answer is simple for us. We were here first!” the website said.

And lest you think this was all so buffoonish that no one could possibly fall for it, ahem:

“He carried himself like a cop, his uniform was spot on to a regular cop uniform, we all thought he was a legit cop.”

Do keep the name Kamala Harris fresh in your mind going forward, because as with many things Californian, our problem will soon be y’alls problem as well:

With Antonio Villaraigosa no longer a threat to her campaign for U.S. Senate, some Democratic leaders see state Atty. Gen. Kamala Harris as Barbara Boxer’s inevitable successor. “I think she is a prohibitive favorite,” said Eric Bauman, the party’s Los Angeles County chairman.

So?
Mostly she’s more blatantly corrupt, even for a prosecutor/politician, and she’s prone to abusing the power of her office with a rare blend of petulance and ignorance:

What prosecuting attorney Robert Murray did was produce a translated transcript of the defendant’s interrogation to which he had added a fraudulent confession … When the trial judge found out, charges against the defendant were dismissed. Incredibly, the State of California, via Attorney General Kamala Harris, decided to appeal the case. The state’s key argument: That putting a fake confession in the transcript wasn’t “outrageous” because it didn’t involve physical brutality

So you see what we’re dealing with here.
I’ll bet all the money in my Burrito Change Jar that Kamala Harris tasked these psychopaths with running a rogue police force because it simply wouldn’t surprise me at this point. Picture every dim, unscrupulous prosecutor you’ve ever heard of, blend them in a puree of affirmative action and let the brew steep in the fetid steam of reality-defying racial grievances, and the bitter result is the distilled essence of Harris’ reign, coming soon to the United States Senate.
Oddly, though, still better than Villaraigosa would be, so I guess bullet is still dodged.

Besides, the Templars were established during the First Crusade, which makes them just less than 1000 years old, not 3000. Outrageous!

I can’t get my head around this. The outright balls on display. Nixon deletes 15 minutes of tape, is forced to resign. Hillary deletes 30,000 emails, and it is still HER TURN. The IRS is stealing people’s money in front of God and everyone. They are fucking thieves. They always were, I guess but never this brazen. They also harass political opponents. Lois Lerner walks. Eric Holder. Harry Reid.

Nobody is minding the store. If you are on the left, I’m not sure the dead hooker or live boy would raise an eyebrow.

The press and the law ignores everything.

      Absolutely.
The same way some people looted the flatware and jewelry on their way to the lifeboats on the Titanic.
This kind of activity exposes what we’ve long suspected but could never before prove — that both the Democrats and the Republicans are on the same fucking team and will not actively oppose the activities of the other, so long as both are pushing in the same direction.
From the mindless tribalism that springs from collapsing time preferences, poor education, slackening ethical standards, economic theories based on a Dire Straits song, and the establishment of a philosophy that says meaning is meaningless and nothing else matters, so bombs away, it amazes me the wheels are still attached to this dundlecart of a civilization.
Probably for not much longer, though.
