Without gas, in a grid down, and with too many people? It’ll keep the weeds down… for a while. The poisoned long pig will take care of the second shift.

Seriously though? The ones who can handle more poison are the ones who will make it. All food is somewhat poisonous. Most of the population lives on the least poisonous, but that requires tech, industry, and other things that just won’t exist. I’m guess those people who can’t handle wheat won’t last. Those who have scrubbed their fruits and vegetables, and don’t eat meat, are going to really have it hard. All good. If you don’t choose Darwin, death arrives on his own anyway. Still… would be nice to be rid of the many food wienies. “I can’t eat that, because, na na na! So there!” Eat or don’t, just shut up!

I’ve never tired cat food. I have a six month supply of wet. If it comes to it, none of the whiners get any. I ought to learn how to make crackers though. I have to think that would help. I already eat pate, couldn’t be too much different/worse/better?

Since I teased, but seriously, I thought I’d share out… cat food crackers Well… And, yes, I am hoping to actually make these. More for longer backpacking camping tours, but who knows.

People who think they are going to forage for a future living are going to starve just as quickly as they would starve if dropped off in the BWCA today. Forget about non-poisonous, plants do not even become digestible just because it’s convenient to us.
