Rollin' Like Sisyphus

Good Music Friday

Posted in Good Music Friday by Huckleberry on September 11, 2015

Short-week Friday is kind of a gyp, because, sure, you hung in there by the fiber of your fingernails, but the whole deal is kind of a cheat, so stop showboating you candy-ass.
I’m in a great fucking mood, by the way, so I have that to carry forward into the weekend, into the horribly hot and humid witch-melting weekend that awaits. 106 on my back deck, my phone app tells me, and I believe it. I’m not even going to bother with outside this weekend if I can help it. I know my workshop needs a good going through, and this is usually the time of year I restock on little things like hardware, electrical supplies, tape, solder, etc and so forth, but I’m not going to even bother with it.
In the world, I notice that it’s all poorly done propaganda with the immigrant waves roiling Europe; one dead boy’s father wasn’t a refugee, he was from a safe country experiencing no turmoil. Oh, and also he was whatever the European version of a Coyote is, smuggling the others into Greece. Another photo-famous dead boy turns out to still be quite alive. Some wonder why this is happening, why so many in power insist that this will all turn out A-OK – because they know this will lead to conflict and bloodshed and that’s like the third bullet point in their Action Statement. Western Civilization isn’t a thing to be saved – it’s dead; all that’s left is the decay. And decay isn’t a thing in its own right, either, it’s simply outside bodies feeding on the corpse.
In other feeding-on-the-corpse news, it’s all just blowing the Hell up on the streets of many major cities. Among the dozens of mayhem events last night in Los Angeles, a carjacking suspect flees police then holds a restaurant hostage. He blows something up inside and a shootout ensues. In the past 18 months a story like this is no longer all that unusual.
If it feels like someone, somewhere, and slammed their foot on the gas, good.
You’re paying attention, because they have.
So I’m going to go find a cool, quiet place, contemplate the ends of things, drink some, watch the SJW-ification of football, drink some more, and it’ll be Monday before you know it.
Get ‘em the Hell in and have a good weekend.

76 degrees right now with 51% humidity, low of 47 tonight and high of 63 tomorrow. It ought to be a beautiful day for football.

Opening home game Saturday, Paint the town red. We’ve got a new frosh QB who scored on runs of 30+ yards on our first 2 offensive plays last week. With the post John Brown recruited class moving into starting roles, this is gonna be a heck of a year.

I’ll probably be on the deck with the radio and the grill both on high. From 5:00 today until 7:00 Monday morning.

but I’m not sure which was funnier, that ad or Subway’s disavowal.
