Let’s take a jog:

The Drag Races Americans Won’t Do | CBS LA
Journalist Jacob Rogers says he tried to ask a man why they were racing and endangering lives, but the man cursed at him and told him to get off the property. When Rogers tried again another time, he says the man said, “’F-America’ and he threw a cigarette at me and that was before he indicated he could kill me and get away with it.” Beverly Hills police were called to the scene, but no arrests were made.

The Next Political Paradigm | WaPo
“The people considering this are being totally irresponsible, but Boehner’s guys, we’re getting ready for whatever may come — not out of fear, but with exasperation about what some Republicans are willing to do to their own party,” said Rep. Peter T. King (R-N.Y.), who is part of the speaker’s circle of unofficial advisers.

The Issue Of Our Time | MRC TV
In total, 77% of respondents believe illegal immigration is either a “very serious” or “somewhat serious” problem. Including the 15% who responded illegal immigration is a “minor problem,” 92% of Americans view illegal immigration as a problem.

The Soft, Fleshy Tyranny Of BMI | The Observer
“BMI is a calculation based on two factors—height and weight. We have it drummed into us that weight is under our control. But as a matter of fact, weight is not under your control more than height is. So, how absurd would it be if an employer started setting goals for how tall you could be?”

Fight Night | NT Times
“That’s how we’ve been crafting our questions, so that Senator X will respond to what Governor Y said about him or a policy he proposed, and try to encourage them to actually debate Lincoln-Douglas style as much as possible,” he said, referring to the face-offs between Abraham Lincoln and Stephen A. Douglas.

Yeah, no.

The Lincoln v Douglas debates were chiefly possible due to the caliber of participants rather than the format. If this President Camacho-esque dundercart approaches even one-tenth of a “Lincoln/Douglas” debate, I’ll eat my goddamn hat.

weight is not under your control more than height is.

What do you even say to such idiocy?

You know, I’ve heard lots of complaints about rich old Roman senators circa 350ad who, as the Empire began collapsing all about them, simply retired to their country estates. I’m starting to get them. Really I am.
