Rollin' Like Sisyphus

Good Music Friday

Posted in Good Music Friday by Huckleberry on October 9, 2015

Hey, look, finally a week that I didn’t want to corporealize and then brutally murder in cruel and unusual ways. Not that it was a good week, necessarily, but now we’ve pretty much established that PAR is not so much good merely the absence of awful.
So that’s what I can say for the week.
We shot about PAR.
I’ll take it I guess.
Hot again.
I’m kind of the fuck over that.
I’ve also been forced to spend a lot of time and energy on wasting time and energy. That, right there, is your bulletproof slogan for the 21st century; when the dial rolls to 2100, believe me, some permutation of that will serve as the epitaph for our time here.
You know, if we’ll even be able to still read by then.
In the world for the week that was, I’m going to lay even money right now that Boehner stays on as Speaker of the House, because he couldn’t hand it off to his guy for various reasons, and though they’re pushing Wrong Paul hard, hard, hard on this, I don’t think he goes for it. He got his cushy gig and he looks done. And the Weeping Orange-You-Glad-I-Said-Vagina from Ohio is only interested in protect his interests, which consists 100% in ensuring an Establishment leadership, and how any of the deficient dimwits that comprise too much of the self-professed Learned Class can still think the chief political paradigm in this country is Republicans vs Democrats is a joke in search of a punchline. Of course the politicos desperately cling to this false paradigm, because a nominal conflict that doesn’t cost anything in terms of influence or fundraising is one of the few valuable things left in this bereft economic wasteland. There’s a better-than-good chance that 2016 will be the last “Republican vs Democrat” election in this country for a good, long while.
Many of those same dimwits in the self-professed Learned Class don’t seem to be embarrassed in the slightest to have creamed their pants over the latest shootings and the last-ditch efforts to END GUN CULTURE FOREVER, with everything from total bans and Executive Actions to weird marketing strategies attempting to make gun ownership “uncool” like they did with smoking. What I guess I keep being surprised by is how the effusive emotionalism grows stronger and stronger as applicable brain power continues to dwindle. The less mentally capable throngs seem to compensate the deficiency with the proportional emotional responses of the toddlers they intellectually resemble.
Keep writing all of your Op-Eds and making your pathetic comparisons to Europe and Australia because someone else mentioned it in passing from something someone else they know on Facebook thought they had a killer point. My one and only retort was, is, and always will be thus:
Molon Labe, cocksuckers.
Anyway, that’ll just about do it for me. I’m heading out to watch playoff baseball and drink myself silly.
There are worse ways to pass the time.
Have a bitchin’ weekend and get ‘em the fuck in.

So the rum tonight is John Watling Amber, last of a bottle that the Lovely and Gracious Rogue and I brought back from the Bahamas in January. Pity that I can’t get more without visiting the third world. I just hope that when the third world visits us, they bring rum.

I don’t think he has that option. I think he was getting voted out and he knew it, and wanted to get out without bootprints on his ass. Lots of pressure directed at Republicans, and if, as you say, they are not going to deliver, well, you know what happens to pressure cookers. It might be time to dust off a new threat condition.
