Rollin' Like Sisyphus

Good Music Friday

Line ‘em up and knock ‘em down, week by week.
For good or ill, it’s in the books now, and that’s worth something I suppose. Been busy as all Hell, but not the good kind of busy where you GET THINGS DONE; the useless kind of busy where a diverse range of people slice and dice your time up and deal them out like the worst game of 21 ever played, because no matter how you count the shoe, it always comes up BUST.
But alas.
Aside from all that, it was an average week, we shot about PAR, and that’s nothing to whistle Dixie about. In the world, it’s going over PAR, WAY OVER PAR, with the European Cauldron set on Toil & Trouble; that place is going to cook off pretty good sometime in 2016 I think. In the same way that America really only has one red line – gun rights – Western Europe has one red line – nationalism – and the schism for each may wrench each place apart, because the assholes who cross red lines will do so because they can. To be honest, I didn’t think the Euros had it in them like this, throwing down for this, but it’s encouraging to see over there because I know it won’t happen here. That ship sailed 30 years and 55 million immigrants ago, and the subjugation has become too engrained and systematized over that time to the point that The Powers That Be absolutely refuse to do anything but pretend it doesn’t even exist on the one hand while demanding that all of them get legalized and compensated on the other.
But if they come for the guns that’ll be that and Antietam will look like a picnic at the Riverwalk.
CLINTON II puffed around the Capitol Hearing Room looking bored and borderline senile, while Opposition Party members floundered about for scathing questions that would upend the Old Bag, but to no avail. CLINTON II declared Victory on the strength of no one in the media giving a fuck, and that’s enough, because if The Daily Show doesn’t poke at it with a stick, her constituency doesn’t ever find out about it. The one thing I am sad about is that there will be no President-Sheriff in the offing, so it’ll either be the Socialist or the Cronyist and if the Cronyist goes to jail, look out.
Closer to home the weather’s been pleasant for once, and it’s actually a nice day outside. In fact, it actually looks good as far as the 10-day Forecast can see. I’ve got a lot of Autumn crap I need to do around the grounds, since the trees are actually shedding their leaves for the first time in 3 years, but I’m also going to try to set aside some writing time for this because I got a good idea while reading the prompt, and I’d like to see if I can hash it out. I don’t know how much “fantasy” it’ll be but it will have a sword. An epic sword.
UCLA crushed Cal pretty well last night, so there’s not much on the sports beat I’m paying attention to this weekend. Just chores and writing and drinking and some BBQ and drinking.
Get ‘em in.

Man, you couldn’t ask for a better song for this week.

“Now, I’m gonna punch you in the nose.”
