Rollin' Like Sisyphus

Good Music Friday

Posted in Good Music Friday by Huckleberry on November 6, 2015

So the week finally closes out, and for once I’m eager and ready for the curtains to draw one final time today on this damn thing. Not a bad week, just a long one, but that is mercifully what alcohol was put here to ameliorate, and ameliorate it will beginning very, very soon.
Out there in the world, I note a metric shit-ton of happenings have transpired this week, and hardly any of it I care about. I mean I do, but, you know, not really. In the wake of Russia deploying troops and air support to Syria to help fight Western-allied rebels, it seems one of their passenger airliners was taken down shortly after leaving Egypt. Shortly after the incident, “U.S. Intelligence” seemed eager to suggest that it was a retaliatory ISIL (ISIS) attack, because as Our Simple Affirmative Action President would say, Putin is “cray” and totally in over his head. Given that 1) “U.S. Intelligence” never admits anything is a retaliatory ISIL (ISIS) strike, and certainly not while the impact crater is still warm and on fire, and given that 2) “U.S. Intelligence” points to its “satellite imagery” showing a “heat blast” that took down the airliner, which if true would be the very first time I’m aware of that a passenger plane crash was captured via satellite imagery; I’m thinking it’s far more likely that “U.S. Intelligence” is in fact responsible for the crash rather than a retaliatory ISIL (ISIS) strike. Last year they couldn’t use “satellite imagery” to find a vanished plane that kept flying for hours after it had gone missing, but “satellite imagery” had no problem capturing this in no time flat.
Sure, why not.
Still barely past the one-third mark on the Most Important Presidential Election Campaign Cycle EVER, notching Week 36 into the books. Ben Carson seemed to be rising, for some reason, and not 24 hours after a single poll comes out that Carson beats CLINTON II in every single demographic, including blacks and white women, someone somewhere in the media cabal decided enough’s enough, so this morning news broke that Carson lied about West Point? Or something? I don’t know. I’ve gone through the Politico story and it seems he lied in a book about a “scholarship” to the military academy when, I guess, the service academies actually pay the students because it’s military service and that’s what that is. Not to defend the gun-grabbing piece of shit, but this “lie” seems lesser than Our Simple Affirmative Action President’s author bio in a book stating he was born on another continent entirely, or where the opposing party front-runner breached multiple NDAs and committed multiple violations of the fucking Espionage Act (spy shit!) but let’s not rush to judgment and DISQUALIFY any candidates based on that. The whole field on both sides needs to get flushed and the process itself DISQUALIFIED entirely.
It’s a good thing one can’t literally hold one’s breath. Go ahead and try it. Falls right through your hands.
Take any random five minutes to crawl through Tween Twitter and watch all the kvetching about how it’s unbelievable why the whole world hasn’t IMMEDIATELY TRANSFORMED itself to accept all the crazy semantic wordplays that they just invented 18 seconds ago and how that has them on the edge of depression and possibly suicide. Don’t know why but that’s fun for me.
Not much on the slate for the weekend. The weather should be nice, and it actually feels like autumn for the first time in five years. Crisp, cool and the leaves are actually falling off trees for once. It’s nice. I see what all the fuss is about. Aside from that, it’s just the Death By One Thousand Paper Cuts of chores and tasks around here that will ravish my weekend, minute by minute, until the alarm ticks off early (too early) Monday morning.
With that, have a bitchin’ weekend and get ‘em in.

When a dude says, “I would never advocate anything to interfere with Second Amendment rights; however…” then the part before the semicolon is a lie.

Have a good weekend. I’m going to try to kill something. Hopefully a duck, goose or deer, but we’ll see.
