Good Music Friday

Help me out with a conundrum:

STEP 1 – ELECT TRUMP
STEP 2 — ????
STEP 3 – AMERICA’S GREAT AGAIN

I keep seeing smart people I generally respect continue to believe with all their hearts that Trump is the CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN, because they’ve made an emotional buy into the conceit that maybe we can be great again with one simple punch of a chad. I didn’t watch the debate, but the one headline that caught my eye, “Trump Defends Size Of His Penis During Debate”, seems about right given all that I know about life in 2016.
I’m tickled three shades of pink to be alive to see it, by the way.
But that is whatever it is. Despite the headlines, Trump isn’t that far out ahead of Cruz in the delegate count, and in this situation the only way Trump can put it away is to get the 1,200+ delegates locked in before the convention. That’s possible but not likely, and ordinarily the frontrunner would have all of the powerbrokers rally around him right about now, and head into the convention as a sort of coronation. With Trump the powerbrokers are flipping their biscuits, and rest assured that if Trump is even one delegate shy of the number to clinch after the final primary, the GOPe will broker the shit out of the convention to get someone else as the nominee, and that someone else inexplicably looks like our old pal, the Stormin’ Mormon.
I can hardly wait for that.
On to the other side, a key figure in the ongoing Clinton Contretemps has struck an immunity deal with “career lawyers” at the Department of Justice, which is something that only happens in exchange for testimony. Worth noting, also, is that this is the first signal from the DOJ that they’re actually going to bother to do something worthwhile for once, as the only previous signals have come from the FBI. Is this happening? Could it be true?
It fucking better be true.
What happens then, I don’t know. The utter vacuous wastes of human life known as the Millennials can’t stop creaming their cargo shorts over Sanders, who if he wanted to win this thing he actually could. If it comes out later that the notoriously poor socialist layabout is on the Clinton payroll as token opposition to make it look like Clinton had to try, well, that would explain everything.
Or maybe it wouldn’t, I don’t know.
It’s starting to rain and I’ve already started the process of imbibification. It’s supposed to rain on and off all weekend, which I’m fine with I suppose, since I’ll be in the shop the entire time. I’ve got the door cut into the tank, tacked the hinges on as well as the banding around the smoker’s door. I’ve also got the firebox completely welded together, I just need to cut out and hinge the fire door, then spec out and cut for the funnel between the firebox and the tank.

Hopefully I can get that done this weekend.
Other than that, I don’t know much. I’ve got about six things I want to write and I never seem to find enough time, so maybe I can remedy that as well.
But enough of this.
Let it begin, and let it end.
Have a bitchin’ weekend and get ‘em the fuck in.

Stormin’ Mormon 2.0, or is it 3.0? Sometimes I forget. On the left* side, I still hear whispers about Ridin’ with Biden in the fall. Sanders is to the Dems what Trump is to the GOP: the guy the party apparatchiks hate because he does not have ambassadorships lined up for them like a real candidate is supposed to. And if they can stop him by means fair or foul, they will, even if it means throwing the election.

Either way, this is fixing to be the most important election of our lifetimes, if by ‘important’ I mean ‘entertaining,’ which I do.

    * i.e. the party that promoted *.Care in every state, rather than in just a single state.

I have no idea what people are thinking in the current political environment.

Didn’t know you were building a smoker either. It looks nice.

Hmm? Oh. Trump isn’t hope and change. He just isn’t anything above, though with more better b.s. than the rest. At 10% of Trump Promise(tm) you have already beat the rest of them. However, if you have any hope that a politician, party, or such, will save you, you are doomed (little “d”). And he IS entertaining. He has both parties riled. I just can’t ask for more, at this point.

Good luck on the grill. I’m so jealous of the guys who get to it and do it. Won’t begrudge with my jealousy, just try to keep up in my smaller ways.
